Paleo/Primal Banana Bread

The best gluten free Banana Bread on the Planet


This amazingly delicious banana bread has been a staple in my house since 2010. The original recipe came from 'Marks Daily Apple' - a blog I still follow for healthy lifestyle suggestions and paleo/primal style recipes.


My introduction to this blog was during my first ever detox challenge where my husband I eliminated inflammatory, allergenic, addictive, and acidic foods, including caffeine and alcohol and replaced them with clean, healthy, sustainable, and whole food options. The experience of truly being intentional about what I was eating changed how I felt in my body, and how I viewed the foods I consumed on a daily basis, forever! It also enhanced the texture of my skin and hair, boosted my mental focus, elevated my overall mood and energy levels, and I still to this day sleep better than ever before.


The creator of 'Marks Daily Apple', Mark Sisson, also the author of The Primal Blueprint, The Primal Kitchen Cookbook, and The 21-Day Total Body Transformation (to name a few of his books) is one of my first influences/inspirations in becoming a health, life, and fitness coach. Every time I make this yummy, healthy, banana bread treat, I am re-inspired to share and educate others on how what we eat makes a difference in all areas of life. Hopefully it can be an inspiration toward healthier ways of eating for you, too.


Paleo/Primal Banana Bread


Ingredients:


  • 3 large (or 4 small) ripe Bananas

  • 3 large Eggs

  • 1/4 cup Butter (melted)

  • 1 Tbs. Honey

  • 1 Tbs. Vanilla

  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda

  • 1/2 tsp. Salt

  • 2 cups Almond Flour (blanched)

Directions:



  1. Pre-Heat oven 350*

  2. In a food processor, mix all wet ingredients

  3. Add in the dry ingredients - mix well

  4. Prep a square baking dish (I use butter)

  5. Poor batter into baking dish and bake uncovered for 25 min

  6. Cover with tinfoil and bake another 20 to 25 min or until a toothpick comes out clean

  7. Let cool 10 min before cutting

  8. Serve and ENJOY!


Note:

  • Every oven is different so cooking times may vary

  • Serve right away, or store in fridge for up to 3/4 days

  • Great all by its self, or top a square with an extra drizzle of raw honey. The dairy free almond or coconut ready whip is pretty delicious also - YUM!
